"Armchair" diagnosis and cosmetic dentistry treatment plan.
History: This person has a general misalignment of her anterior teeth. She also seems to be missing a number of her posterior teeth, both top and bottom.
Cosmetic dentistry treatment plan: In our "after" picture we've illustrated idealizing the alignment of this person's upper front teeth by way of placing dental crowns. It might be possible that the exact same sort of cosmetic change could be made by placing porcelain veneers. A decision regarding which type of dental restoration would be best would need to be made by the dentist performing the treatment.
( What is the difference between porcelain veneers and dental crowns? )
When editing this picture, after we had illustrated the placement of dental crowns on the upper front teeth her smile still showed an unpleasant asymmetry because there were no posterior teeth to complement the presence of her upper left ones. Once we illustrated the replacement of the missing posterior teeth her smile took on a much more even and pleasing appearance. While it is impossible to tell from this picture which dental techniques could be utilized to replace this person's posterior teeth, removable partial dentures, dental bridgework, or dental implants might each be considered.
