A cosmetic dentistry smile makeover simulation illustrating the placement of a dental crown, porcelain veneers, and a dental bridge..

cosmetic dentistry makeover

Dental History: Most of the cosmetic disharmony associated with this person's smile seems to stem from the teeth on her right side. The positioning of this person's upper right lateral incisor (the second tooth right of center) makes it appear shorter than its corresponding tooth on the other side. Further back on the right side there seems to be a tooth or two missing.

Cosmetic Dentistry Treatment Plan: The shortness of the upper right lateral incisor could be remedied by the placement of a dental crown (or possibly even a porcelain veneer [ What is the difference between porcelain veneers and dental crowns? ] ). This apparent shortness may be related to factors associated with this person's occlusion (bite). If so the dentist performing the work would have to determine if the tooth could be lengthened as much as we've shown.
We've also illustrated the use of a dental bridge to replace the missing teeth in back on the upper right side. The other changes we've shown for the upper teeth could be made by way of placing porcelain veneers on them. Her lower teeth appear to have a hint of grayness to them. It seems likely that this may just be related to the way the picture looks, as opposed to the way things really are. However, teeth bleaching could be utilized as a means to attempt to both harmonize and lighten the color of these teeth.
