The Philips Sonicare Essence 5300 rechargeable sonic toothbrush.

The Essence 5300 sonic toothbrush offers a single operating mode (Sonicare brushing modes are essentially the same thing as operating speeds or power settings found on other powered toothbrushes). This mode allows the model 5300 to deliver that hallmark, patented sonic brushing action (31,000 brush strokes per minute) that Sonicare brand toothbrushes are so well known for.

The Essence 5300 features Sonicare's Smartimer. This function is a built-in brushing timer that causes the model 5300 to automatically shut off at the end of two minutes of use. (Sonicare suggests that user's should brush their teeth for at least two minutes).

The charging process can (depending on the initial status of the battery) take as long as 24 hours to fully recharge the toothbrush's battery. The Essence 5500's charge gauge signals when the brush's recharging process has been completed. It also has a beeping feature that indicates when only enough battery charge for three brushings remains.
