It would be our thought that wearing latex gloves wouldn't do much to avoid the awkwardness associated with the stickiness of the strips. Also, gloves are often talc coated which would get transferred to the strips.

Wearing gloves could be a way of avoiding skin contact with the whitener. (Dentists routinely wear gloves when working with peroxide whiteners.) But most of the irritation you'll likely notice has to do with prolonged contact (like placing a strip with your fingers and then touching some part of your body or something which then isn't washed off immediately).
